I was recently traveling in Central America and was looking for an expensive and fast food fix since my stomach was already rumbling. (Although I bought packaged food, I am always excited to leave the United States to usually discover other countries eat more whole foods and less processed foods.)
I bought Knorr black bean soup for less than a dollar at a market. All I did was add hot water and some avocado slices. This gave me a substantial amount of fiber, fat, and calories and was relatively allergen free (although you may have to take into consideration processing equipment).
Join us for a Summer potluck this Sunday, 29th after working on the garden. Email onutrition@gmail.com for directions!
We usually meet on Sundays to work as a group on the garden. Bring some seeds or plants to grow and get a share of all the garden's produce!
Contact us at onutrition@gmail.com for more information.
O Nutrition Club will meet at 6pm every Thursday in the Fishbowl/Mangiamo area of the EMU. Contact us for more information.
Check out the new Gluten Free sweets in the Buzz Cafe, bottom floor of the EMU. So far there has been GF lemon bars, chocolate torte, apricot bars and macaroons! Try one and fill out a comment card (near the Buzz's microwave) with positive feedback and suggestions if you'd like to see these options stay on campus!
Many members have voiced interest in becoming a member to a Community Support Agriculture (CSA)program. Most CSAs work with a system of delivering "shares" to members. For example, once a week you get a bag of veggies and fruit. It's a surprise, and you pay a set price every week to receive local organic produce, which usually seems to come out cheaper than if you bought the items in the grocery store.
have just been posted under Forums Yummy Recipes. They are 3 of my favorite. I hope to post more when I get them entered in a computer.
So, if the need to register to vote is the determining factor of whether you vote or not, don't let it be!
1.) It only take 12 seconds!
2.) You don't get put on some "list" and receive emails, etc.
3.) You can be deleted after you vote. Just email onutrition@gmail.com
The only reason to register is for controlling people from voting more than once.
